What should be worn for a session?

What are the types of breathwork?

Not all breathwork techniques affect the body in the same way. 9D Breathwork offers four distinct categories, each with unique purposes and intensity levels:

  • Basic Breath Training uses foundational techniques that strengthen awareness, regulation, and resilience in daily life.
  • Down-Regulation (Parasympathetic Activation) uses gentle breathing designed to calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and restore balance.
  • Hybrid Breathwork is a blend of calming and activating breathing that creates rhythmic energetic waves while maintaining equilibrium.
  • Activation Sessions (incorporating Euphoric Breathing which activates the sympathetic nervous system) are high-intensity patterns designed to release stored emotions, awaken energy, and facilitate deep transformation through altered states of consciousness.

What is the difference between activating breathwork and downregulation breathwork?

Activating breathwork stimulates the sympathetic nervous system to increase energy, focus, and alertness (fight-or-flight). Downregulation breathwork activates the parasympathetic nervous system to induce calmness, relaxation, and rest (rest-and-
digest). Activating uses faster, deep inhales, breathing through the mouth while downregulating uses slower nasal breathing. Activating (Upregulation) Breathwork can increase energy, enhance focus, and create feelings of alertness by stimulating the sympathetic nervous system, mimicking stress to wake up the body. Downregulation (Calming) Breathwork can reduce anxiety, calm the mind, and reduce stress by stimulating the vagus nerve and the parasympathetic nervous system. Note that if the breathwork journey you select is an activating breathwork journey, you will downregulate before the journey ends.

Can both activating and downregulating breathwork give me somatic release?

Yes, both activating and downregulating breathwork can result in somatic release. This is your body releasing stored stress and emotion.
Activating breathwork can trigger significant somatic release, allowing the body to discharge trapped tension and emotions. These techniques activate the sympathetic nervous system, increasing oxygen and lowering CO2, which can cause intense physical sensations like tingling, shaking, or emotional releases. In simple terms, bypassing the logical mind and engaging the body’s natural trauma-release mechanism
often results in a deep feeling of calm, lightness, or relief afterward. IMPORTANT: While these techniques can be effective for processing emotion, it is recommended to engage in them when feeling grounded or with a trained practitioner if working through deep trauma.

Do I need to know Yoga?

9D Breathwork is done completely lying down comfortably. There is no physical component other than directed breathing, of which you are always in control. Yoga incorporates breathwork with movement. There is no guided physical movement in a 9D Breathwork session.

Do I need to be spiritual to do breathwork?

Breathwork uses your body’s intelligence and natural biology to let your body complete a cycle it started when it held on to an emotion, potentially while in crisis. It is not a spiritual philosophy. However, many feel closer to their spiritual selves when practicing breathwork.

I talk to my friends/partner, sharing my emotions. how is this different?

While we often try to solve problems or regulate ourselves by thinking or talking, the natural internal chemistry shift that comes with breathwork allows us to complete the cycle for emotions that are stuck with somatic release. Different than “top-down” work which starts in the mind, breathwork is “bottom-up” work, starting with the body. This is why breathwork is an excellent addition for those who use talk therapy or other healing modalities. Your breath is always with you, and it provides a way to connect with yourself deeply, allowing buried emotions to surface and be released, so you can return to your center.

What is 9D Breathwork in simple terms?

9D Breathwork sessions use specific breathing patterns combined with sound technology to help people regulate their nervous systems. It's basically stress management through breath—like what athletes use for performance but applied for emotional regulation.

Why Should I Try Breathwork?

Breathwork can benefit everyone:
  • Professionals overwhelmed by workplace demands
  • Those recovering from trauma or grief
  • Individuals dealing with chronic stress or anxiety
  • People interested in spiritual or personal development
  • Athletes and performers who want to manage nerves and sharpen focus.

Even one session can bring unexpected insights and a sense of emotional relief. Practicing breathwork regularly turns it into a lasting support for self-regulation and healing.
